The Art of Margaret Brundage
One of the most influential peril and bondage artists in history was a woman. And until recently, I'd never heard of her. Her name was Margaret Brundage, and she was a pulp artist, mainly known for her cover art for Weird Tales. From 1932 to 1945, she painted 66 covers for the pulp magazine, including a stretch of 39 straight issues from 1933 to 1936. His works are beautifully created with pencils, watercolors and pastels. His bondage works often feature elegant women dressed in styles from the 20s and 30s. One of his frequent subjects is Bettie Page. (Is there a bondage artist who hasn't done a Bettie Page tribute at some point?) Here's a selection of some of his portraits of Bettie that I've collected from various sources. (A couple of these are from auction sites, and as far as I know aren't uploaded anywhere else.) Let's start with a few slices of cheesecake, shall we? How about some gorgeous
